Head of AI Engineering (f/m/x)

neoshare, an AI-first fintech scale-up, is seeking a Head of AI Engineering to lead and scale a 15-20 person ML team into a production-grade organization. You will own the LLM gateway, build RAG pipelines, and establish MLOps practices to deliver reliable, scalable AI features for banking clients, partnering closely with the CTO on strategy.

• Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing AI/ML team; set the technical bar and operating rhythms.
• Organize sub-teams with clear ownership, SLOs, and on-call; manage roadmap and delivery.
• Own the LLM gateway: unified APIs, multi-provider routing, rate limits, fallbacks, and cost tracking.
• Build high-performance RAG pipelines with robust observability and safety guardrails.
• Establish LLMOps/MLOps: model/prompt registries, CI/CD, canary/A-B tests, offline/online evals, drift monitoring.
• Optimize inference throughput and cost (autoscaling, batching, quantization/distillation, caching).
• Translate company goals into an AI/ML roadmap; manage budgets, SLAs, and vendor strategy.
• Implement data privacy, security, and compliance practices; define incident response and runbooks.

• 5+ years as a backend engineer and 4+ years leading AI/ML engineering in production.
• Deep architecture expertise in Java (JVM) and/or Node.js (NestJS), distributed systems, APIs, microservices.
