Asana is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its AI Retrieval, Infrastructure, or Product team. You will build systems that power Asana's AI features, improve search and retrieval, and work on large-scale product systems. The role involves full-stack development with a backend focus, collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment in Warsaw.
Responsibilities
- Reduce latency and cost of the retrieval system
- Improve search quality and relevance
- Expand retrieval capabilities to new data sources
- Build and optimize search infrastructure with OpenSearch/ElasticSearch
- Contribute to ML-powered features like embeddings and semantic search
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in New York City and Warsaw
Requirements
- 6+ years commercial software development experience
- Experience building user-facing products in large codebases
- Professional experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
- Experience with React and Node.js or Go/Scala/Python
- Hands-on experience with OpenSearch or ElasticSearch
- Experience with embeddings and ML-based search/retrieval
- Strong system design and backend architecture skills
