Senior Software Engineer | Asana [31-36k PLN CoE]

Asana is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its AI Retrieval, Infrastructure, or Product team. You will build systems that power Asana's AI features, improve search and retrieval, and work on large-scale product systems. The role involves full-stack development with a backend focus, collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment in Warsaw.

• Reduce latency and cost of the retrieval system
• Improve search quality and relevance
• Expand retrieval capabilities to new data sources
• Build and optimize search infrastructure with OpenSearch/ElasticSearch
• Contribute to ML-powered features like embeddings and semantic search
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners in New York City and Warsaw

• 6+ years commercial software development experience
• Experience building user-facing products in large codebases
• Professional experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
• Experience with React and Node.js or Go/Scala/Python
• Hands-on experience with OpenSearch or ElasticSearch
• Experience with embeddings and ML-based search/retrieval
• Strong system design and backend architecture skills
• English proficiency (min. B2/C1)
