Arm is establishing a Robotics Research Lab in Austin to develop next-generation intelligent robots. This staff-level role focuses on original research across robotics disciplines, including robot learning, perception, planning, and control, with an emphasis on integrating these capabilities into coherent systems. The position involves building and evaluating prototypes on real robotic platforms and simulation while shaping future Physical AI technologies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct original research in robotics areas such as machine learning, perception, planning, control, and safety.
- Develop methods for intelligent robots to perceive, reason, plan, learn, and act in complex environments.
- Build, integrate, and evaluate research prototypes on real robotic platforms and in simulation.
- Collaborate across disciplines to combine classical robotics, foundation models, and agentic AI.
- Publish research at leading venues and contribute to the technical roadmap of the Robotics Research Lab.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent research experience in Robotics, CS, EE, ME, or Machine Learning.
- Strong expertise in at least one area relevant to intelligent robotic systems.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate and solve open-ended research problems.
