About the Role
Archer Aviation is hiring a Computer Vision Engineer to build the onboard perception stack for an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The role focuses on fusing camera, lidar, and radar data for object detection, tracking, and precision landing. You will design and deploy deep-learning algorithms for real-time embedded systems. This is an onsite role based in San Jose, California.
Responsibilities
- Develop the onboard perception stack, fusing camera, lidar, and radar data for object detection, tracking, and precision landing capabilities
- Design and implement deep-learning and classical computer vision algorithms for real-time, embedded deployment
- Perform sensor calibration and multi-sensor fusion across camera, lidar, and radar
- Optimize perception algorithms for real-time performance on embedded compute
- Analyze test data to characterize and improve perception performance
- Collaborate with navigation, controls, and hardware teams to integrate perception outputs into the broader system
Requirements
- Strong background in computer vision and/or machine learning, with a degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in C++ and Python
- Experience with deep-learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorRT) and classical CV (OpenCV)
- Experience processing lidar and/or radar point-cloud data
