About the Role
Xcel Energy seeks a Sr. AI Engineer to lead technical delivery of AI-powered solutions, mentor teams, and drive operational excellence. The role involves designing scalable, secure AI systems using agentic patterns and generative AI tooling.
Responsibilities
- Lead solution lifecycle technical activities, ensuring integration of enterprise architecture, security, and compliance.
- Coach and mentor team members, conduct peer reviews, and approve technical solution designs.
- Innovate using emerging capabilities and provide input to strategic roadmap.
- Review solution performance, manage operational health, and provide escalated support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field (or 4 years equivalent experience).
- Ten years of related functional experience.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Expertise in managing lifecycle of technical solutions.
- Deep knowledge of technology architecture, infrastructure, network, security, and software principles.
- Experience with delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum) and operational models (ITIL).
