Staff Software Engineer - Machine Learning Platform

Wise is building the best way to move money globally. The Machine Learning Platform team builds and maintains infrastructure enabling data scientists to develop, deploy, and monitor ML models at scale. This role focuses on evolving the platform into a coherent, self-service product for internal data scientists and ML engineers.

• Build and maintain core ML platform services including model serving, training pipelines, and experiment tracking. Improve platform scalability, reliability, and observability. Collaborate with data scientists to understand their workflows. Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to the technical roadmap.

• Strong engineering background in Python and production systems. Experience with Kubernetes, ML platform tooling (MLflow, Airflow), cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), distributed systems, observability, and software engineering best practices. Ability to use AI-assisted development tools responsibly.

• Experience building internal developer platforms, ML workflows, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK), streaming/batch data processing (Spark, Flink, Kafka), and platform-as-product thinking.
