Senior Prompt Engineer, NYC

West Monroe is seeking a Senior Prompt Engineer to support use case development for an Agentic AI platform on Google Cloud Platform. The role focuses on preparing and structuring input data, designing and refining prompts and schemas, and tuning extraction and reasoning behavior for accurate and auditable AI outputs. This is a hybrid role based in New York City.

• Collect, curate, and structure input data and contextual information for AI agent performance.
• Design, test, and refine prompts and schemas; create reusable prompt templates.
• Fine-tune extraction and reasoning capabilities; develop strategies for ambiguity and complex reasoning.
• Implement automated testing frameworks and validate outputs for accuracy, bias, and consistency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document findings for reproducibility.

• Strong experience in prompt engineering and system instruction design for LLMs (GPT, PaLM, etc.).
• Expertise in context design using RAG, prompt chaining, memory windows, and schema-driven alignment.
• Strong NLP and LLM foundations; data structuring and preprocessing skills.
• Proficiency with GCP services: Vertex AI, BigQuery, and related AI/ML tools.
• Programming skills in Python for prototyping, testing, and evaluation harnesses.
