Staff Machine Learning Engineer - Ops

Wayve is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join its Model Integration and Release team in London. In this role, you will own and evolve the engineering release process for Wayve's autonomous driving models, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and performance standards before reaching customers. You will work across ML engineering, AI Platform, evaluation, and CI/CD to protect the model baseline and improve delivery reliability and efficiency.

• Define and evolve model development and release processes, including branching strategies, release cadence, configuration management, and quality gates.
• Review proposed model, architecture, code, and metric changes to ensure implementation matches intended outcomes.
• Assess evaluation results and determine whether releases meet quality and safety standards.
• Identify delivery bottlenecks and work across teams to address root causes.
• Balance speed and rigour, making informed decisions about when to accelerate delivery and when further validation is needed.
• Build and maintain release pipelines covering the full ML training and delivery lifecycle.
• Develop automated checks and tooling to identify issues earlier in development.
• Establish reliable evaluation methods for assessing model changes and release readiness.
