Viant's Machine Learning team is seeking a Staff Applied Scientist to lead end-to-end AI strategy and develop next-generation models in NLP, deep learning, and large-scale AI systems. The role involves driving high-impact research, deploying ML at scale, and mentoring a team of scientists. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience in ML, strong publication record, and expertise in deep learning frameworks.

• Lead and define AI strategy for Viant's products and services
• Conduct advanced research in NLP, RL, LLMs, and deep learning, publishing in top-tier conferences
• Architect and deploy high-throughput, low-latency ML models in production
• Explore novel AI techniques in generative AI and causal ML
• Design and analyze A/B experiments to validate ML strategies
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to applied scientists and ML engineers

• 4+ years of experience building and deploying ML models at scale
• Demonstrated technical leadership in complex ML projects from research to production
• Masters + at least two peer-reviewed publications in deep learning, NLP, or related AI domain (or PhD in CS, ML, Statistics, or related field)
• Strong foundation in deep learning, NLP, generative AI, and causal inference
