Perception Engineer

Aquabyte is seeking a Perception Engineer to develop and deploy next-generation sensing capabilities for fish farms. The role involves signal processing, sensor fusion, 3D scene reconstruction, and production engineering in a Python-based stack. You will work with underwater cameras and computer vision to quantify fish health and growth.

• Design and implement signal processing algorithms for raw sensor data
• Develop sensor fusion and calibration techniques for multi-modal sensor streams
• Build pipelines for 3D scene reconstruction from complex inputs
• Apply conventional and deep learning approaches for feature detection
• Contribute to production codebase ensuring scalable, robust, well-tested algorithms

• BS/MS in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or relevant technical degree
• 3+ years of experience in perception or signal processing
• Strong coding ability with mastery of Python and experience with SQL
• Demonstrated experience with sensor fusion, state estimation, or 3D computer vision (e.g., SLAM, structure-from-motion, point cloud processing)
• Strong software engineering skills including testing, version control, and deployment pipelines
