TikTok is seeking a Senior Research Scientist/Software Engineer to architect and build the scalable infrastructure for next-generation LLM and Agent platforms. You will design high-performance pipelines for model lifecycle management, including training, deployment, and governance, while optimizing large-scale inference and distributed systems. This role focuses on building robust observability, evaluation frameworks, and core components like RAG systems and agentic memory.
Responsibilities
- Architect standardized, reusable pipelines for the entire lifecycle of models and agents
- Design and implement core platform infrastructure including model registries, feature stores, and RAG systems
- Build robust observability and evaluation frameworks for reproducibility and cost-efficiency
- Develop advanced Agentic AI systems focusing on planning, tool use, and memory
- Partner with algorithm teams to accelerate research and development cycles
Requirements
- BS/BA or Master in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in ML, distributed systems, or AI infrastructure
- Expertise in deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX/FLAX)
- Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and the modern AI stack
