Senior AI Engineer

Talkspace is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and scale autonomous AI agents for its behavioral health platform. This role focuses on applying LLMs, reinforcement learning, and multi-agent systems to improve mental healthcare while prioritizing safety and ethical autonomy. As a technical leader, you will drive the lifecycle of these agents from cognitive architecture to production deployment.

• Design and implement the architecture for autonomous AI agents, including planning, memory, goal-setting, and tool-use orchestration.
• Apply reinforcement learning and control theory to develop adaptive, safe intervention strategies.
• Select, fine-tune, and deploy LLMs for reasoning, language understanding, and empathetic communication.
• Develop human-agent interaction models informed by cognitive science and behavioral economics.
• Build simulation environments for pre-training and testing agent policies.
• Optimize production systems for multi-agent orchestration, ensuring low latency and high resilience.
• Lead adoption of new agentic frameworks and reasoning technologies.
• Design evaluation pipelines with observability, offline evaluation, production monitoring, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop workflows.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a highly quantitative field.
