SandboxAQ is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join its AI Generation Engine (SAIGE) team, which rapidly prototypes AI-first SaaS products powered by Large Quantitative Models (LQMs) and agentic frameworks. This hands-on role owns the end-to-end ML lifecycle, from data exploration and model development to scalable production deployment. As a founding engineer on the team, you will bridge cutting-edge AI research and production-grade software to deliver real-world MVPs.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and manage robust data pipelines for training, validation, and continuous retraining of LQMs and agentic frameworks.
- Develop, implement, and rigorously test novel ML models and algorithms, defining metrics aligned with product objectives.
- Lead data cleaning, transformation, and feature engineering from large-scale datasets to optimize model performance.
- Analyze model behavior, performance, and failure modes; tune hyperparameters and optimize architecture for production.
- Collaborate with AI researchers, product managers, and software engineers to translate business objectives into ML roadmaps.
- Champion engineering standards for code quality, system efficiency, and security in a prototyping environment.
- Drive technical execution with high autonomy, making critical design and implementation decisions independently.
