Motion Recruitment Partners is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to help build a new AI team in Toronto from the ground up. The role focuses on putting AI into production, working hands-on with LLMs, agentic and multi-agent systems, retrieval-based architectures, and modern MLOps on a major cloud platform. This is an early-stage seat with significant influence over technical direction and a clear path toward Lead or Principal level.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship production ML/AI systems from prototype to scale
- Design and implement generative AI solutions using LLMs, retrieval-based architectures, and agentic workflows
- Own production ML engineering including MLOps, containerization, cloud infrastructure, and workflow orchestration
- Contribute to architecture and system design decisions
- Lead through technical influence and mentorship rather than direct people management
Requirements
- 7+ years building production ML/AI systems
- Strong hands-on Python and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch)
- Hands-on generative AI experience: LLMs, retrieval-based architectures, agentic workflows
- Track record of taking ML systems from prototype to production at scale
- Production ML engineering: MLOps, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud (AWS or Azure), workflow orchestration (Airflow), API development (FastAPI)
