RA Capital Management is seeking a Senior Applied AI Scientist to design and implement AI-driven systems that transform complex healthcare, scientific, and financial data into actionable investment insights. This hands-on role involves building workflows using NLP, RAG, and agentic systems while partnering closely with investment professionals to solve ambiguous problems. The ideal candidate will own projects from prototyping through deployment, ensuring reliability and responsible AI practices.
Responsibilities
- Design and build systems to transform unstructured information into structured insights
- Develop and deploy AI workflows including NLP, RAG, knowledge graphs, and agentic systems
- Own applied AI projects from problem definition to deployment and iteration
- Develop benchmarks and evaluation frameworks for accuracy and reliability
- Partner with stakeholders to identify high-value use cases for investment research
- Translate complex findings into clear narratives and visualizations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in CS, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field
- At least 4 years of professional experience in applied ML, data science, or software engineering
- Minimum 2 years working with NLP, information retrieval, or LLM-based systems
