Axon is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to join its computer vision and machine learning (CVML) team. The role involves advancing state-of-the-art CVML and multimodal technology for public safety products. You will lead end-to-end research, design privacy-preserving models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product managers to build proof-of-concepts.
- Lead end-to-end research in computer vision, machine learning, and generative AI for cloud and devices.
- Design and implement responsible, privacy-preserving, efficient, and scalable models for visual data analysis.
- Develop performance metrics and validate model effectiveness in real-world settings.
- Optimize algorithms for resource-constrained devices.
- Stay current with research and translate findings into products.
- Contribute to publications and patents.
- Coach and mentor junior scientists.
Requirements
- PhD and 3+ years experience in Computer Science or related field with focus on CV/ML/AI.
- Proven track record of research in machine learning or computer vision.
- Experience driving ML development lifecycle and delivering models at scale.
