TRAX is seeking an AI Research Engineer to develop and deploy deep learning models for retail scene understanding and product recognition. The role involves working with Vision-Language Models (VLMs), computer vision, and augmented reality workflows to create production-grade solutions deployed globally. You will optimize algorithms for edge hardware and collaborate in a distributed international team.
Responsibilities
- Train, fine-tune, and evaluate deep learning models and VLMs for retail applications
- Design features combining computer vision and computer graphics for AR workflows
- Profile, optimize, and quantize algorithms for edge hardware constraints
- Work with multimodal LLMs and advanced prompting techniques
- Benchmark and test ML models against real-world retail datasets
- Ship production-grade visual and multimodal architectures
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience developing and deploying ML/DL models in production or R&D
- Strong understanding of classical and modern computer vision
- Solid mathematical foundations in linear algebra, calculus, and 2D/3D geometry
- Practical experience with modern LLMs/VLMs and prompt engineering
- High proficiency in Python and frameworks like Keras, TensorFlow, or JAX
- Experience with AR frameworks (ARKit/ARCore) or graphics pipelines (OpenGL/WebGL)
- Familiarity with edge optimization runtimes like CoreML or TFLite
