OpenAI is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer specializing in Cybersecurity to partner with enterprise customers and security teams. This customer-facing role involves deploying OpenAI models, APIs, and agentic workflows to solve complex cybersecurity challenges such as secure code review, threat modeling, and incident response. The ideal candidate bridges deep technical expertise in AI implementation with strong domain knowledge in application security and cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Embed with strategic customers as the technical lead for AI-enabled cybersecurity workflows.
- Lead discovery across AppSec, DevSecOps, vulnerability management, SOC/IR, and GRC automation use cases.
- Build and deliver customer-facing demos, prototypes, workshops, and reference architectures using OpenAI tools.
- Advise customers on safe implementation patterns including tool calling, guardrails, and data handling.
- Translate between executive strategy and practitioner-level implementation details.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in technical consulting, solutions engineering, or security architecture.
- Strong cybersecurity domain expertise in areas like application security, cloud security, or incident response.
- Hands-on experience building prototypes with APIs, Python/JavaScript, agents, and CI/CD systems.
