OpenAI is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to help enterprise customers integrate Codex and other frontier AI capabilities into their software development lifecycles. This role combines hands-on technical engineering with customer-facing leadership to design, build, and deploy AI-powered workflows that enhance developer productivity. You will work directly with engineering leaders to translate real-world deployment challenges into product feedback and scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering leaders to identify high-value opportunities for AI adoption in software development.
- Design, build, and deploy AI-powered coding workflows, integrations, and evaluation systems.
- Work hands-on in code to create prototypes, reference implementations, and production accelerators using Python and AI tools.
- Lead technical workshops and enablement sessions to drive sustained developer adoption of AI coding systems.
- Translate real-world deployment insights into product proposals and model feedback for OpenAI teams.
Requirements
- Proven track record of designing and delivering software or AI systems in enterprise environments from prototype to production.
- High proficiency in Python; experience with JavaScript or TypeScript is valuable.
