Okta is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its AI Authentication team to build next-generation authentication for the Agentic AI era. The role focuses on developing scalable services using TypeScript and Node.js with MongoDB/PostgreSQL, collaborating with cross-functional teams to secure GenAI applications. • Bring expertise in identity and security to build innovative features for the Agentic AI world.
• Build and maintain scalable services using TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to deliver features for GenAI applications.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code; participate in code reviews and system design discussions.
• Contribute to observability and alerting systems to ensure reliability and performance.
• Continuously learn and grow by working on complex distributed systems.

• Solid programming experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js runtime environments.
• Practical experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (preferably Postgres and MongoDB).
• Ability to write well-tested, good quality code.
• Enjoyment of iterative development environments.
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical people to deliver high-value results.
• Excellence when working autonomously, knowing when to seek help.
• Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, and sense of ownership.
• Experience with architecture principles across infrastructure, security, data, integration, and application layers.
• Experience working on resilient products that can scale.

• Understanding of IAM concepts.
• Experience with AI Agents to understand the problem space.
• Experience creating and maintaining public and secure APIs.
• Curiosity about AI and its intersection with identity and security.
• Experience with Identity and Access Management software and concepts.
• Knowledge of observability tools like Datadog, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.
