Senior Data Scientist - AI & ML | MLOps Enablement (Hybrid - Seattle, WA)

Senior Data Scientist embedded in the MLOps Enablement team at Nordstrom, shaping the ML platform infrastructure and tooling that data scientists use daily. You will validate new platform capabilities, design model evaluation frameworks, and drive adoption of Vertex AI-based solutions.

• Run end-to-end POC validation for new platform capabilities (Feature Store, Endpoints, Model Evaluation, AutoML, BigQuery ML). Attend DS team planning sessions to surface workflow pain points. Design and own the Model Evaluation Framework. Build model-type-aware Feature Store schemas and endpoint configurations. Lead benchmarking of platform against industry standards (SageMaker vs Vertex AI). Author DS-native documentation and onboarding guides. Contribute to Vertex AI Agentic Platform. Own model card standards.

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, CS, or related field required. 10+ years hands-on Data Science experience with production model delivery across multiple ML types (classification, ranking, NLP, time-series, recommendation) and GenAI. Deep expertise in model evaluation. Experience with Feature Store design. Proficiency in Python with production-quality ML code. Strong understanding of ML monitoring (data drift, prediction drift, concept drift). Experience with experiment tracking and model lifecycle management.
