Netflix is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain the Validation & Safety Platform, ensuring the safety and correctness of code generated by AI agents. The role focuses on developing automated guardrails, static analysis layers, and evaluation systems to detect regressions and semantic errors in agent-produced code before production deployment. This position requires a strong background in platform engineering, security-minded sandboxing practices, and experience with LLM-based evaluation techniques.

Responsibilities

Design and build platform-wide validation products including test generation, coverage tools, and mutation testing at scale.
Develop polyglot static analysis layers to serve as automated quality gates for agent-generated code.
Create agent-specific safety signals to detect prompt flakiness, evaluate agent trajectories, and score semantic correctness.
Implement secure sandboxing, scoping, and data redaction mechanisms for autonomous agents accessing test infrastructure.
Define platform capabilities and make strategic build-vs-extend decisions as the platform's scope expands.

Requirements

Proven experience building and operating developer platforms used by multiple engineering teams.
Strong understanding of agentic coding tools, hooks, MCPs, and context management.
