About the Role
Nelly is building an AI-driven financial operating system for European healthcare. As a Staff AI Engineer, you will define AI strategy, architect backend-first agentic products, and mentor engineers. Work in a fast-paced, impact-focused environment with rapid iteration.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive AI strategy across multiple teams and engineering-wide initiatives.
- Architect and lead development of backend-first agentic products.
- Drive technical discovery, exploring and evaluating emerging AI technologies.
- Build POCs and turn them into real products.
- Remain hands-on with foundational code, design reviews, and refactoring.
- Mentor AI engineers and other developers.
- Be a trusted advisor to leadership.
Requirements
- Technical leader with 8+ years experience.
- Impact-focused mindset.
- Experience with enterprise-scale systems and multi-team architecture.
- Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining backend systems in production.
- Experience exploring, evaluating, and experimenting with AI/ML based products in production.
- Experience building GenAI products, including guardrails and online evaluation.
- Strong AI/ML fundamentals with hands-on experience in model evaluation, AB testing, and monitoring stochastic systems.
