Software Engineer, Backend

Mirage is an AI-native video platform that uses generative models and natural language to automate video production and editing. As a backend engineer, you will design and own services, APIs, data and ML pipelines, and infrastructure, while integrating large generative AI models into production systems. This role suits engineers who enjoy solving distributed systems challenges while staying close to product and user outcomes.

• Design, build, and own backend systems end-to-end, including services, APIs, data pipelines, and infrastructure
• Solve complex technical challenges across distributed systems, scaling, concurrency, and performance
• Integrate and operate large generative AI models in production, combining internal research and external capabilities
• Instrument, experiment, and iterate in production to continuously improve system and product quality
• Design and operate core platform infrastructure, including third-party integrations, storage, security, and internal APIs

• 2+ years of professional industry experience
• Track record of shipping high-impact systems and/or products in production
• Exceptional problem solving fundamentals and ability to learn
• Excellent engineering taste combined with a strong sense of practicality and time-management
• Ability to operate effectively in an extremely fast-paced environment and deliver projects end-to-end
