About the Role
LILT AI seeks a Senior AI Researcher/ML Engineer specializing in ASR to architect and scale multilingual speech recognition models, develop domain-adaptation frameworks, and build benchmarks for agentic conversational AI.
Responsibilities
- Architect, train, and fine-tune state-of-the-art ASR models (e.g., Conformer, Whisper, RNN-T) across multiple languages.
- Implement automated evaluation frameworks tracking WER, CER, latency, and efficiency.
- Develop pioneering multilingual benchmarks for end-to-end conversational AI agents.
- Build and optimize real-time streaming and batch speech pipelines.
- Refine auxiliary speech components (VAD, diarization, noise normalization).
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with focus on speech processing.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in ASR or speech-to-text systems.
- Advanced proficiency in PyTorch and speech toolkits (Whisper, NeMo, Kaldi, ESPnet, SpeechBrain).
- Experience with on-device inference (ExecuTorch, LiteRT, ONNX Runtime Mobile).
- Strong software engineering skills in Python and handling large-scale audio datasets.
