AI Researcher / ML Engineer (ASR & Speech Specialist)

LILT AI seeks a Senior AI Researcher/ML Engineer specializing in ASR to architect and scale multilingual speech recognition models, develop domain-adaptation frameworks, and build benchmarks for agentic conversational AI.

• Architect, train, and fine-tune state-of-the-art ASR models (e.g., Conformer, Whisper, RNN-T) across multiple languages.
• Implement automated evaluation frameworks tracking WER, CER, latency, and efficiency.
• Develop pioneering multilingual benchmarks for end-to-end conversational AI agents.
• Build and optimize real-time streaming and batch speech pipelines.
• Refine auxiliary speech components (VAD, diarization, noise normalization).

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with focus on speech processing.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in ASR or speech-to-text systems.
• Advanced proficiency in PyTorch and speech toolkits (Whisper, NeMo, Kaldi, ESPnet, SpeechBrain).
• Experience with on-device inference (ExecuTorch, LiteRT, ONNX Runtime Mobile).
• Strong software engineering skills in Python and handling large-scale audio datasets.
