About the Role
Optum is looking for an AI/ML Engineer to design and implement production-ready AI solutions, including Gen AI applications, LLM fine-tuning, RAG pipelines, and enterprise agentic systems. You will work on document AI/OCR extraction, deploy LLMs, and build cloud-based ML services that improve health outcomes. This is a remote role requiring 5+ years of AI/ML experience and strong Python/PyTorch skills.
Responsibilities
- Implement real-world Gen AI projects, fine-tune LLMs, and build RAG pipelines.
- Design and deploy enterprise-level agentic solutions using LangGraph, Google ADK, CrewAI, or similar frameworks.
- Work with vector databases, embeddings, and structured output generation.
- Develop Document AI / OCR / extraction solutions.
- Deploy LLMs in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and integrate with APIs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML roles.
- Hands-on experience with Gen AI, LLM fine-tuning, and RAG.
- Experience building agentic solutions with open-source frameworks (LangGraph, Google ADK, CrewAI).
- Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, and SQL.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
