Isomorphic Labs is seeking ML Research Engineers to advance frontier AI models at the intersection of machine learning and drug design. You will partner with scientists and engineers to build and optimize foundational models that transform biopharmaceutical discovery. The role involves translating research concepts into robust implementations, running experiments, and deploying models to production.
Responsibilities
Develop and optimize state-of-the-art AI models and maintain robust codebases, data pipelines, and infrastructure.
Design, implement, and run experiments to evaluate ML model performance and robustness.
Optimize performance of models such as Diffusion models, Transformers, and GNNs across the AI/ML hardware-software stack.
Advise on bringing AI/ML models to production and integrating them into product offerings.
Collaborate with research scientists and engineers, participating in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
Proactively identify technical challenges and stay updated on latest AI advancements.
Requirements
4+ years of industry experience in reputable tech companies or research labs.
Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field (Computer Science, AI, Physics, Mathematics, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
Isomorphic Labs is an AI-first drug discovery company that develops predictive and generative models to accelerate scientific research and drug design. It was founded as an Alphabet-owned spin-out from DeepMind.
Deep understanding of machine learning principles and techniques.
Strong proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as JAX or PyTorch.
Hands-on experience with modern model architectures (e.g., Transformers, GNNs, Diffusion Models).
Experience taking models from conception to production (scoping, data analysis, training, debugging, evaluation, benchmarking, deployment).
Excellent software development skills with strong algorithms and data structures fundamentals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-disciplinary teams.
Self-directed with ability to navigate ambiguity and own complex projects.
Nice to Have
