Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer 1

The Texas Department of Public Safety is seeking an AI/ML Engineer for a short-term staff augmentation contract to support critical AI initiatives. The role focuses on implementing an enterprise search solution, deploying the Darwin AI inventory system, developing AI agents, and establishing AI governance controls. This hybrid position is based in Austin, TX.

• Implement and deploy components of the enterprise search tool
• Configure, roll out, and document the Darwin AI inventory system
• Support implementation and testing of AI agents aligned to business needs
• Develop technical controls, documentation, and processes for AI governance adoption

• 1+ years of experience building and deploying enterprise search components
• 1+ years of experience with AI inventory system configuration and rollout (e.g., Darwin)
• 1+ years of experience supporting AI agent implementation and testing
• 1+ years of experience developing AI governance controls and documentation
