Judi Health is looking for a Senior Applied AI/ML Scientist to lead the development of LLM-powered automation for healthcare. The role focuses on fine-tuning multimodal LLMs, building training pipelines, and productionizing ML solutions for document understanding, search, QnA, and conversational AI. This is a remote-friendly, full-time position with a strong emphasis on applied research and scalable software delivery.

• Investigate and evaluate the latest LLM and multimodal language models for in-domain accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop tools and processes to create data pipelines for ML training and customization.
• Fine-tune LLMs for the healthcare domain.
• Help build and productionize ML solutions for document understanding, search, QnA, GenAI, and virtual agents.
• Own the full ML lifecycle: problem definition, data exploration, feature engineering, model training, validation, and deployment.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and QA; troubleshoot AI model, integration, deployment, and backend issues.
• Document R&D processes and architectural decisions; ensure healthcare data security and HIPAA compliance.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum 4 years of industry experience in applied AI/ML research and development.
• Strong grasp of OOP, design patterns, efficient algorithms, and quality software development.
• Solid Machine Learning fundamentals: deep neural networks, transformer-based LLMs/MLMs, decision trees, and RAG.
• Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML libraries such as PyTorch.
• Experience training autoregressive language models (LLaMA, GPT, Mistral) via pre-training, fine-tuning, RLHF, or post-training.
• Experience with open-source LLM platforms and training stacks (Hugging Face, DeepSpeed).
• Experience with ML platforms such as AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, and Databricks.

• PhD in AI, Machine Learning, or Computer Science.
• Experience in healthcare or life sciences.
