HeyGen is hiring an Applied AI Engineer to join its Video Agent team, which builds a multi-step AI agent that turns prompts, documents, or assets into finished videos. You will design the agent's tools, prompts, and context, build evals and run experiments to measure quality, and ship features across the stack in TypeScript/React and Python/Go. Unlike most applied AI roles, you will work directly with HeyGen's in-house trained models and the researchers behind them.
Responsibilities
- Design the tools, prompts, and context the Video Agent works with, improving planning, error recovery, and long multi-turn conversations
- Build evals and offline replays of real sessions; run A/B experiments behind feature flags and interpret results honestly
- Analyze real user sessions and agent traces to find where the agent fails
- Ship user-facing features in TypeScript and React and backend services and long-running workflows in Python and Go
- Partner with product managers, designers, and the research and rendering teams
- Own features end to end from idea through launch and follow-up

- Built and shipped an AI agent that real people use, where a model calls tools, plans across several steps, and acts on results (chat wrappers or prompt demos are not sufficient)
