GSK is seeking a Staff AI/ML Engineer to join the Controllable Biology team in London. This role focuses on applying advanced machine learning and deep learning methods to biological networks and sequence data to accelerate drug discovery and personalized medicine.
Responsibilities
- Convert complex biological questions into tractable mathematical problems solvable by computational methods.
- Design and implement state-of-the-art deep learning models for genomic and proteomic data.
- Define technical strategy and roadmaps for AI/ML products while ensuring safety and operational reliability.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead multidisciplinary teams through agile delivery sprints.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Natural Sciences (PhD preferred).
- 7+ years of experience with deep learning algorithms, model architectures, and scalable training/deployment.
- 7+ years of software development experience including CI/CD, code reviews, and testing.
- 5+ years in a technical lead or engineering manager role with direct reports.
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch (or equivalent frameworks).
