Join DeepMind's AGI Safety and Alignment Team to research and implement novel techniques for aligning frontier AI systems. You will focus on reducing catastrophic risks by developing adversarially robust control systems, enhancing model interpretability, and ensuring safe deployment of large-scale models.
Responsibilities
- Research new alignment methods and study alignment failures in frontier models.
- Develop and implement adversarially robust AGI control systems in production environments.
- Conduct interpretability research to understand internal model representations and behaviors.
- Collaborate with product teams to ensure safe adoption of research findings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in software development, ML engineering, or ML research.
- Experience working effectively within interdisciplinary research teams.
- Strong foundation in machine learning principles and software engineering practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience conducting applied research on safety and alignment of frontier AI systems.
