Flinks is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to establish and own the data and ML platform infrastructure. This role focuses on building scalable pipelines, managing BigQuery/dbt transformations, and operationalizing ML models via Kubeflow and Vertex AI. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between data science and product teams by ensuring data reliability, governance, and production-grade serving.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the data platform including BigQuery, dbt, Airflow/Composer, and Pub/Sub ingestion.
- Build and operate the ML platform with training pipelines (Kubeflow), model serving (FastAPI), and CI/CD.
- Harden data models, fix quality issues, and establish trustworthy source-of-truth feeds.
- Establish data governance, observability, and operational metrics for products lacking them.
- Standardize data engineering patterns and tooling across product lines.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience in cloud environments.
- Expert SQL and strong Python skills for scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Strong experience with ETL/ELT, data modeling, orchestration, and warehouse optimization.
- Experience with modern cloud-native data ecosystems (BigQuery, dbt, Airflow preferred).
