Senior Machine Learning Engineer / Data Scientist

ProFound Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer / Data Scientist to design and implement advanced AI/ML systems focusing on retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), large language models, agentic orchestration, and conversational AI. The role involves building scalable pipelines that integrate biological knowledge graphs and multi-omics data to support therapeutic discovery. This position requires expertise in Python, LLM frameworks like LangChain and PyTorch, and experience with knowledge graph technologies.

• Architect and implement scalable RAG and LLM-based systems integrating multi-modal data sources.
• Design and deploy RAG and graph-based RAG pipelines leveraging LLMs and knowledge graphs.
• Build and maintain agentic orchestration frameworks for multi-agent scientific reasoning.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to prepare large-scale omics datasets for model training.
• Develop and optimize conversational AI interfaces for querying internal data.
• Partner with experimental scientists to ensure biologically interpretable model outputs.

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field with 1-3 years industry experience (or M.S. with 4-6 years).
• Proven track record in building LLM-based applications, including RAG, graph-based RAG, agentic orchestration, and chatbot development.
• Proficiency in Python and LLM/ML frameworks such as LangChain, Hugging Face Transformers, PyTorch.
