Expedia Group is seeking a Principal AI Forward Deployed Engineer to embed within business units and drive the adoption of AI-native solutions. This role involves identifying high-value opportunities, prototyping AI systems, and scaling them across the enterprise while coaching senior technical talent. The ideal candidate combines deep engineering expertise with strong partnership skills to turn emerging AI capabilities into measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to identify high-value AI opportunities and define measurable outcomes.
- Own the full lifecycle of AI initiatives from discovery and prototyping to production deployment and value realization.
- Design complex, scalable AI-enabled systems including retrieval, orchestration, and agentic workflows.
- Establish and evangelize software and AI engineering standards, including responsible AI practices.
- Coach and mentor senior individual contributors and emerging technical leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years or Master’s with 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in the full software development life cycle, system design, and API design.
- Hands-on experience building, deploying, or operating AI-enabled systems, tools, agents, or workflows.
