Dropzone Robotics is seeking a Computer Vision Intern to advance their AI perception system for frontline medical care and robotic assistance. The role involves developing robust deep-learning algorithms for real-time edge deployment in challenging outdoor environments. You will work closely with a small team to move from prototype to field-ready hardware testing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve computer vision and deep-learning perception algorithms
- Optimize AI models and pipelines for real-time edge deployment on hardware like NVIDIA Jetson
- Improve robustness to challenging lighting, motion, occlusion, and clutter
- Evaluate system performance and identify failure modes
- Support integration, testing, and preparation for real-world field demonstrations
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Robotics, AI/ML, or Computer Engineering
- Experience with Python, computer vision, and deep learning
- Familiarity with PyTorch, OpenCV, object detection, tracking, pose estimation, or segmentation
- Strong hands-on problem-solving skills
