Docker is seeking a Staff-level ML Engineer to join its founding Intelligence team, focusing on building governance, security, and trust capabilities for AI agents. You will design and ship ML systems for prompt injection detection, behavioral anomaly detection, and policy recommendations within Docker's containerized runtime environment. This role combines deep applied ML expertise with strong software engineering skills to build production-grade infrastructure and evaluate frontier models.

• Design, train, evaluate, and ship ML systems for governance and security (e.g., prompt injection detection, trust scoring).
• Build supporting infrastructure including data pipelines, feature stores, model serving, and evaluation harnesses.
• Set technical direction for the team's ML work, owning architecture and evaluation methodology.
• Make pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions using frontier models and managed services.
• Help recruit, mentor, and shape the growing team.

• 5+ years of deep applied ML/AI expertise with a track record of shipping production systems.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Experience in fraud, abuse, safety, security, or trust domains.
• Proven ability to build and own systems around ML models (data pipelines, serving, monitoring).
• Fluency with modern AI tools and instinct for when to use frontier models vs traditional ML.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
