Senior Software Engineer, Compiler & AI Tooling

Code Metal is building AI-powered code translation tools that help defense and industrial partners deploy algorithms to heterogeneous compute targets. This senior role will lead the architecture of novel code generation pipelines combining generative AI, static analysis, and formal verification. Ideal candidates have deep expertise in compilers/tooling or in production AI agentic systems.

• Define software architecture for Agentic AI pipelines, including state machines, orchestration layers, and LLM-integrated workflows.
• Build well-tested, extensible code foundations for code translation products.
• Collaborate with domain specialists to incorporate formal verification and static analysis methods.
• Partner with engineering and research teams to build robust code repositories and CI/CD processes.
• Architect workflows spanning code parsing, semantic analysis, AI-assisted generation, and output validation.

• 7+ years of enterprise-level software development in C++ or Python.
• Experience gathering requirements and translating them into software designs.
• Strong software delivery fundamentals: code review, testing, CI/CD, release management, and build systems.
• Plus one of: compiler/tooling background (Clang, LLVM, MLIR) or AI agentic product background (LLM orchestration, tool-use pipelines, PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain).
