AbbVie is seeking a Principal Applied AI Engineer to drive AI and machine learning solutions in manufacturing, supply chain, and quality operations. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, develop AI models, and integrate them into operational systems. The position requires experience in deploying AI/ML solutions in regulated environments.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and prioritize AI/ML opportunities in operations
• Map and assess current-state business processes to inform AI-enabled improvements
• Translate operations needs into clear AI/ML problem statements and success metrics
• Partner with data science, engineering, and IT teams to select appropriate algorithms and tools
• Support vendor assessment and drive use cases from scoping through proof of concept
• Integrate AI/ML solutions with operations data platforms (MES, SCADA, ERP, IoT)
• Establish documentation, testing, monitoring, and model management practices for compliance

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Operations, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience building and deploying AI/ML solutions, preferably in manufacturing, supply chain, or quality
• Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts and real-world application
• Experience integrating AI/ML models into operational/IT systems (MES, SCADA, IoT, ERP, cloud)
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills

• Familiarity with GxP, FDA, and data privacy requirements is a plus.
