True Anomaly is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their Perception AI team, focusing on autonomous spacecraft operations. The role involves managing a team of engineers developing world models, generative AI for synthetic data, multi-target tracking, and edge-deployed computer vision systems for space applications. Candidates must have deep expertise in perception AI, strong leadership skills, and eligibility for security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of perception AI engineers across five work streams including synthetic data generation, tracking, and sensor fusion.
- Provide technical oversight on world model architectures, generative AI, and edge deployment strategies.
- Define validation standards bridging synthetic data, simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Manage team performance, hiring, and career development while maintaining technical credibility.
- Collaborate with flight software, hardware, and autonomy teams to deliver integrated perception systems.
Requirements
- 8+ years experience in computer vision, robotics, or perception AI engineering.
- 4-5 years of people management experience leading teams of 4+ engineers.
- Master's degree in CS, Robotics, EE, or Aerospace; PhD or equivalent experience accepted.
