About the Role

The Brattle Group is seeking a Data and AI Engineer for an early-career role combining data engineering, machine learning, and AI workflows. The role involves client delivery, applied R&D, and building internal capabilities, working with Python, SQL, and AI tools. This is a hands-on position for candidates who are resourceful and comfortable with ambiguous problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Prepare, inspect, clean, reconstruct, and validate data from various sources including structured datasets, documents, PDFs, and scans. Use Python, SQL, notebooks, and version control to build reproducible workflows, test assumptions, and document work. Support applied analytics, machine learning, and AI-enabled workflows such as text extraction, classification, summarization, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation. Communicate progress, technical findings, assumptions, and limitations to consultants and stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; 0-3 years of professional experience. Strong foundation in Python for data analysis and scripting (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn). Working knowledge of SQL and relational data concepts. Familiarity with generative AI workflows (prompt design, embeddings, vector search, RAG). Experience with Git, version control, and reproducible workflows. Ability to handle structured and unstructured data.
