2027 Winter Student Opportunities RBC Borealis -Machine Learning Software Engineer, 4 Months -

RBC Borealis is seeking a Machine Learning Software Engineer for a 4-month winter student co-op in Montreal. You will work end-to-end on ML projects—from data preprocessing to implementing algorithms and front-end development—alongside leading researchers in areas such as reinforcement learning, unsupervised learning, and computer vision. This role is ideal for a bachelor's or master's student with software development experience and an interest in applied machine learning.

• Building machine learning-based software solutions for solving important problems
• Collaborating with research and business teams to converge on the best solutions
• Optimizing algorithms and prototypical solutions for efficient implementation
• Extending prototypes into fully functional, polished solutions ready for internal and/or external use
• Supporting projects with thorough documentation of usage, design decisions and capabilities
• Extracting, transforming and loading massive datasets using distributed computing framework technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.)

• Working on a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent
• Some software development experience (including co-op and internships)
• Experience with writing software in one of the major languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python
