About the Role
Meta is looking for a Machine Learning Software Engineer to build and scale personalized recommendation systems across its family of apps. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design efficient, high-performance ML-driven features, from data ingestion to model deployment. The role involves developing large-scale recommendation models, optimizing for quality and reliability, and leading technical efforts. Ideal candidates have deep experience in ML, recommendation systems, and production software engineering.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build innovative application experiences
- Develop reusable software components and custom user interfaces using the latest technologies
- Analyze and optimize code for quality, efficiency, and performance
- Architect scalable systems and resolve performance and scalability issues
- Lead complex technical efforts and provide technical guidance to peers
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience (or 2+ years with a PhD)
- 2+ years of experience in machine learning, recommendation systems, or AI
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Hack
- Experience developing machine learning models at scale from inception to business impact
- Knowledge developing and debugging in C/C++ and Java, or related scripting languages
- Proven experience designing, building, or deploying recommendation systems
