About the Role
Eversheds Sutherland (Konexo) is looking for a Legal AI Engineer to lead AI and automation initiatives across internal and client-facing legal workflows. In this role, you will design and deploy agentic AI systems, build robust AI governance frameworks, and implement RAG-based LLM solutions. This strategic position combines deep technical expertise with legal domain knowledge to drive measurable ROI and responsible AI adoption.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy multi-step agentic AI workflows for tasks such as contract review, due diligence, compliance monitoring, and intake routing.
- Build and maintain AI governance frameworks, including human-review checkpoints, hallucination detection, output verification, and audit trails.
- Develop, refine, and version-control advanced prompts and LLM call chains, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures.
- Ensure compliance with evolving AI regulations (EU AI Act, state AI laws, federal guidance) in all AI deployments.
- Evaluate legal AI vendors and make informed build-vs-buy decisions based on governance capability and ROI potential.
- Identify automation opportunities, implement solutions, and measure outcomes such as cycle time reduction and accuracy improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; JD or advanced technical degree (Computer Science, Data Science) is a meaningful differentiator.
