Machine Learning Systems Engineer

Motional seeks a Machine Learning Systems Engineer to join its ML Acceleration team, focusing on high-performance systems for training frontier models at scale. The role involves profiling and optimizing distributed training, developing GPU kernels in CUDA/Triton, and building efficient data pipelines.

• Performance profiling and optimization to identify bottlenecks in data loading, gradient computation, and communication
• Optimize distributed training pipelines using frameworks such as PyTorch Distributed
• Design and maintain high-performance GPU kernels in Triton or CUDA
• Develop robust data loading pipelines to maximize training throughput

• Bachelor’s, Master’s degree, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Extensive hands-on experience with PyTorch
• Experience optimizing ML model execution during training and inference
• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, architectures, and processes
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
