Lead the architectural design and optimization of high-performance machine learning workloads, focusing on kernel-level improvements for TPUs and GPUs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical roadmaps, select toolchains like MLIR/OpenXLA, and ensure scalable, efficient AI infrastructure solutions. This role requires deep expertise in compiler principles, graph optimizations, and hands-on performance tuning.
Responsibilities
- Define architecture for performance-critical ML workloads using custom kernels on TPUs/GPUs
- Create strategic roadmaps for kernel optimization and framework integration
- Guide development of benchmarking, autotuning, and profiling tools
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
- Advocate ML performance best practices across frameworks and compilers
Requirements
- 12+ years software engineering experience, 5+ in architecture/leadership
- In-depth knowledge of JAX, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Core ML
- Hands-on expertise in kernel-level performance optimization for TPUs/GPUs
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python for high-performance computing
- Solid grasp of compiler principles, graph optimizations, MLIR, or OpenXLA
