Senior Machine Learning Engineer I, AI Governance (Remote Canada)

We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our AI Governance team at Optro, a leading audit and risk management platform. You will build AI/ML solutions using cutting-edge LLM techniques like RAG, fine-tuning, and prompt engineering. This is a remote role based in Canada.

• Build, ship, and own product features end-to-end
• Apply classical ML and LLM-based approaches (RAG, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, semantic search)
• Write well-designed, maintainable, and testable code
• Collaborate with designers and product managers
• Participate in Agile development lifecycle

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
• 4+ years hands-on experience developing and deploying ML models
• Ability to write scalable production-quality code
• Proficiency in classical ML and LLMs
• Excellent programming skills in Python, Java, or similar
• Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.)
• Familiarity with search/information retrieval and ranking systems

• Experience with Node.JS and modern ES6 or TypeScript
