Research Engineer Intern – Object Detection

Contribute to the core mission of accelerating deployment of next-generation autonomous trucks by improving generic-object detection. This internship involves building a closed-loop 'long-tail data engine' using simulation, data mining, and foundation models. Validate the engine on a curated benchmark to enhance autonomous truck safety and performance.

• Build a prototype of a closed-loop long-tail data engine using simulation tools, automated data mining, and foundation models.
• Validate the engine to ensure improvements in generic-object detection.
• Establish a measurable long-tail evaluation benchmark using existing logs.
• Improve generic-object detection capabilities on the benchmark.
• Develop and integrate simulation tools, data mining techniques, and foundation models.

• Student pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or similar field.
• Experience in 3D computer vision and software design/development.
• Skills: Python, C++, 3D computer vision.

• Publication record in venues such as CVPR, ICLR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, AAAI, SIGGRAPH, ICRA, or IROS.
