A fast-growing technical consultancy seeks a Senior Applied AI Engineer to build production-grade ML and generative AI systems for clients across startups, multinationals, and regulated sectors. This forward-deployed role combines software engineering, applied AI, and hands-on client problem solving. You will own complex technical workstreams, shape project direction, mentor engineers, and turn ambiguous AI opportunities into reliable production systems.
Responsibilities
- Own complex technical workstreams end to end, from discovery and prototyping to production deployment
- Build production-grade Python software, including training and serving ML models and inference services
- Design and deliver cloud-based systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure with modern DevOps and infrastructure-as-code
- Work directly with clients to translate ambiguous AI opportunities into reliable production systems
- Support and mentor other engineers and contribute to high engineering standards
- Make technical decisions balancing delivery speed, reliability, security, and maintainability
Requirements
- Minimum 2:1 from a Russell Group university in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline
- Strong experience building production-grade software in Python, including training and serving ML models
