Permutable is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to build production LLM pipelines that transform global news and market data into actionable intelligence for financial institutions. You will work across the full ML lifecycle, from data preparation and model fine-tuning to deployment and monitoring, using Python and in-house GPU infrastructure. The role involves close collaboration with the founder and engineering team, with a focus on evaluation, reliability, and real-time processing.

• Build production LLM pipelines spanning data preparation, model training, fine-tuning, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Improve model performance using Python and GPU infrastructure, assessing quality, latency, and compute requirements.
• Build repeatable evaluations and investigate failure cases to guide model and pipeline improvements.
• Orchestrate data and model workflows with Apache Airflow, including monitoring and failure recovery.
• Deploy and operate AI services on AWS (Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, Redshift) using Docker, GitHub Actions, and Pulumi.
• Take ownership of deployed models, monitor production behavior, and resolve issues with the team.
• Contribute to engineering decisions on model choices, evaluation methods, and system design.
